AMANDA

Adventuring Into the Woods

Just like every shoot it takes time to warm up in front of the camera, I know first hand that it isn’t easy. Amanda sweetly let me know that she wasn’t too comfortable posing for pictures, but that changed as time went on and we started having fun together as if we had known each other for a while! Amanda and her mom made there way to Winston-Salem all the way from Greenville, NC home of the East Carolina Pirates. I had recently done her older sisters senior pictures earlier on that spring for her senior year of college at High Point University; and her family loved the photos so much that they were willing to travel 3 hours to have me do Amanda’s seniors as well. It was such a honor being the sole photographer for these special ladies in this amazing times of their lives!

We got lucky. The weekend that we chose to do the photo session there was going to be a wedding; so the park had put free standing doors up prior to the event as part of the decor. We were able to take advantage of these gorgeous doors with such beautiful patina. It pared really well for a background with the outfit change that Amanda beautifuly put together.

As you may know by now I love to take adventures, so that being said I led Amanda to this sweet little trail that made it’s way through these magical woods in Tanglewood Park. We had such a good time creating these whimsical images that captured Amanda’s true beauty!

The more we spent time together the more relaxed we got and we were able to really see those genuine smiles.

To end the day we made sure to get some shots of Amanda doing some of her beautiful gymnastic poses. You can definitely tell that gymnastics is something that she is passionate about! As we walked back towards our cars I was told with, much excitement, that she had so much fun during the session! Hearing the excitement in her voice and seeing the smile on her face when she told me that, confirmed why I enjoy my job so much! I love bringing someone out of their shell during our session together by just being myself and having fun while capturing their true personalities!
